An extract from the 1972 Annual Report
Holiday Scheme
Mr. F. Pontin of Pontin's Ltd. kindly continued his donation of free places at holiday camps. The places provided are for widows and children, and the trustees again authorised the management committee to make equivalent awards in other deserving cases and to pay a sum to the recipients of camp places towards fares and out of pocket expenses. The committee considered numerous applications both for camp places and for cash awards and in all gave grants amounting to £4,305 for this purpose. A holiday is beyond the means of many of those known to the Trust and the Holiday Scheme is greatly appreciated by beneficiaries.
