Thursday 1st September 1966. At 10am a single bell tolled at the church of St Stephen with St Thomas in Shepherds Bush. At the same time a lone piper played a lament at the Memorial Service held in the courtyard of New Scotland Yard. (Several days later a large Memorial Service was held at Westminster Abbey).

My daughter and I are completely overwhelmed by the enormous generosity of the Trust. No words will ever adequately describe our most sincere appreciation and deep gratitude.
